We are the North Hills & Shaler Area High School Sustainability Students and we’re working hard to keep our community green! Our Sustainability classes and clubs are collaborating to help raise awareness and funds for the important 30-acre Ross Conservation Project.

This beautiful green space is located in Ross Township and sits at the highest elevation in the Girty’s Run Watershed. Allegheny Land Trust, a local 501c3 land conservation nonprofit helping local people save local land in the Pittsburgh region since 1993, is raising money to purchase the land by the end of December 2024 to permanently protect it from development and maintain it as an eco-friendly and healthy, green space. Upon its conservation, ownership and stewardship will be passed onto the Township to expand their parkland and create a wild, green asset for the community to enjoy.

We hope you'll join us in our effort to raise awareness and funds to see that this project is conserved to benefit our generation and many generations to come!
