Protect the Panhandle Trail!
Let's Keep the Panhandle Trail Green!
Enjoy a ~2-mile nature hike from a trail access point at Main Street & Station Street in Sturgeon, PA 15082 (link to directions) along the Panhandle Trail exploring flora and fauna along the way! Among the fall colors, attendees will learn about local ecology, including interesting plants, fungi, and other wildlife.
Attendees will also hear about ALT's efforts to protect a green space that shades and buffers the Panhandle Trail and supports Robinson Run's water quality. Conserving this land would help grow the "Panhandle Greenway" - a proactive effort to protect and connect nearby green spaces -, preserve the shaded green experience of the trail, and support local air and water quality. Event proceeds support the conservation of this land - so join us to help conserve community character, recreation opportunities, and stormwater buffers along the Panhandle Trail!
This guided walk will be a mostly flat, out-and-back hike.
PARKING | We'll be parking at this trail access point near the intersection of Main Street & Station Street in Sturgeon, PA 15082 (link to directions). It's across the street from Hunner's Pizza & Restaurant. If the lot is full, there is on-street parking on Main Street by the pizza place; please be respectful of local signage if you need to park here.
