Learn How to Remove Invasive Species and Become an Allegheny Land Trust Steward
Join Allegheny Land Trust for a volunteer training at Churchill Valley Greenway to become a steward at your favorite Green Space. This training will allow you to work independently removing invasive species for ALT as an individual volunteer. We will hike around to identify several common invasive species on the site, demonstrate their removal, and explain the steward program at Allegheny Land Trust. Help us restore native habitats throughout the region by joining this training.
- Rain or shine, but ALT will cancel in case of thunderstorms.
- Dress for muddy conditions and wear close toed shoes. Long pants and sleeves are recommended to avoid poison ivy or ticks.
- ALT provides all tools and extra water. Please bring a reusable water bottle.
- No Bathrooms on site.
- Children are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.
- Park and meet in the large parking lot (where the country club building once stood).
